Franchise FAQ: Answers for First-Time Buyers
Thinking about buying a franchise for the first time? These answers cover the questions we hear most from career changers, corporate professionals, veterans, and fitness enthusiasts exploring franchise opportunities, including SuppLife. For an overview of the brand and model, visit our SuppLife franchise page, and to see each step, read how to become a SuppLife franchise owner.

I have never owned a business. Can a first-time owner buy a SuppLife franchise?
Yes, first-time owners are welcome to inquire. Many people buy a franchise precisely because it gives them a defined system, training, and a support team. We look at your background, leadership, people skills, and financial readiness during the application and qualification steps.
Do I need to be a fitness or nutrition expert?
No. A genuine interest in health, fitness, and helping people matters most. The initial training program described in our FDD includes product knowledge, and a big part of the SuppLife model is hiring and developing knowledgeable staff.
What is a Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD)?
The FDD is a legal disclosure document that franchisors must give prospective buyers. It has 23 sections, called Items, that cover the franchisor’s background, fees, estimated initial investment, obligations on both sides, territory, training and support, and more. It is the most important document you will read before buying any franchise.
When will I receive the SuppLife FDD?
After you submit an inquiry and we complete an introductory conversation. Under the FTC Franchise Rule, you must receive the FDD at least 14 calendar days before you sign a binding agreement or pay any money.
Where can I find the franchise fee and investment details?
In the FDD, which we provide after inquiry. Initial fees are covered in Item 5, other fees in Item 6, and the estimated initial investment in Item 7. We do not list dollar amounts on this page, so please rely on the current FDD for accurate numbers.
Does SuppLife make earnings or income claims?
No earnings claims are made on this website. Under federal rules, any financial performance representation can only be made in Item 19 of the FDD. Be cautious of any income promise, from any franchisor, that does not appear there.
Should I hire a franchise attorney?
We strongly recommend it. A franchise attorney can explain the franchise agreement and FDD in plain language, and an accountant can help you build a realistic budget and financing plan. Both are worth the investment for any franchise purchase. Our guide to questions to ask a franchisor can help you prepare.
What happens at Discovery Day?
You visit our Bristol, CT flagship at 1235 Farmington Avenue, meet the leadership team, see the shake bar, lounge, and sales floor, talk through potential territories, and get your remaining questions answered face to face. It is a chance for both sides to confirm fit. See the full ownership process.
Will I need to work in the store myself?
SuppLife is built for owners who are present and involved, not passive investors. Owner participation requirements are described in Item 15 of the FDD, and we will talk about them openly during the process.
I am a veteran. Is SuppLife a good fit for me?
Veterans often bring exactly the leadership, discipline, and team-first attitude a SuppLife store needs, and we welcome the conversation. If any special programs or incentives are offered, they would be described in the FDD. Ask us about them on your introductory call.
Is a SuppLife franchise available in my area?
Availability depends on open territories and the franchise laws that apply where you live. Submit an inquiry and ask about availability in your area. We will give you a straight answer.
What does a SuppLife store offer customers?
A curated selection of supplements, vitamins, and sports nutrition, a shake bar serving protein shakes, energy drinks, and acai bowls, a comfortable lounge, and trained staff who focus on guidance over pressure.
How is a franchise territory defined?
Your territory is defined in the franchise agreement and described in Item 12 of the FDD. We discuss potential areas during the process and look at them together during site selection.
What support do owners get after opening?
As described in Item 11 of the FDD, support after opening includes the operations manual through our online learning system, supplemental training, guidance on approved products and suppliers, local marketing guidance, and ongoing field support from the SuppLife team.
How do I get started?
Complete the franchise inquiry form or call (860) 485-5244. Starting a conversation is free and does not obligate you to anything.
